The postgraduate program at the Institute of Magnetism was established by Order No. 483 of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine dated July 10, 2007. The training was carried out in the following specialties: 01.04.02 – theoretical physics, 01.04.11 – magnetics, 01.04.07 – solid state physics, 21.06.01 – environmental safety.

By decision of the Licensing Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine ( Protocol No. 66/2 dated August 28, 2017) the Institute was granted a license to conduct educational activities for the training of doctors of philosophy at the third (educational and scientific) level in the specialties 104 Physics and Astronomy and 105 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials.

Today, the Institute has accredited two educational and scientific programs:
Physics”, specialty 104 (E5) Physics and Astronomy;
Applied Physics and Nanomaterials”, specialty 105 (E6) Applied Physics and Nanomaterials.

The scientific potential and available equipment allow us to train specialists of the highest level in a wide range of scientific problems in magnetism and solid state physics. In order to make more effective use of modern scientific equipment, there are two joint laboratories of the V.G. Baryakhtar Institute of Magnetism and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute: the Computer Physics Laboratory and the Molecular Biophysics Laboratory.

Over the past 5 years, 4 persons have been admitted to postgraduate studies, and 4 postgraduate students have successfully completed their postgraduate studies and defended their PhD theses.
